How we source platform terms

The comparison at /platforms exists because pages that answer “OnlyFans percentage cut” or “Fansly fees” often state numbers with no primary source, and several are simply wrong. Our rule is the opposite, and the type system enforces it: a figure cannot be published without the document it came from. Today that means 5 of 14 platforms have enough readable, sourced terms to earn a full page.

The rule: a link and a date, or it does not ship

Every figure carries a direct link to the exact help-centre article or legal page it was read on, the publisher's name, and the date we read it. These terms change; a number without a date is a guess with better styling. If we could not read something, we record what we tried and what happened instead of filling the gap with a plausible-looking number, because a plausible number is exactly how wrong figures spread in the first place.

The three “no value” states, and why they differ

A blank cell hides information, so we never render one. When a figure is not a plain sourced number, it is one of three distinct things, and which one matters to a creator deciding where to put their income:

  • Not published. We read the platform and it genuinely does not state this. That is a finding, not a gap: “they won't commit to a payout schedule” is itself worth knowing. It ships with the evidence page we read.
  • Not checked at the source. The figure may exist, but we could not read it at the source, and we say precisely why: the docs were blocked to crawlers, rendered client-side only, returned a 403, sat behind a creator login, or the source we once had went dead. “We couldn't open their terms” and “they don't publish terms” are different facts.
  • Not applicable. The field does not make sense for that platform's model: a single “creator share” is misleading for a clip marketplace that pays different rates on clips, messages and tips.

How often we re-check

Every sourced figure is re-read at least every 90 days, and the platforms we could not read are re-tested monthly; if their terms become readable, they move into the sourced table. You do not have to take the cadence on faith: every figure shows the date it was last read. A platform page that cannot clear five sourced figures stays out of search engines until it can, so a thin page never quietly ships.

Corrections log

When we change a figure, or deliberately publish one that contradicts a number everyone else repeats, it is recorded here with a date, not quietly edited.

  • 2026-07-29 Fanvue: Published Fanvue's creator share as 80%, correcting the 85% figure still repeated across listicles and SEO pages. Fanvue's own help centre documents the reduction — the older rate has ended. source
  • 2026-07-29 JustForFans: Recorded the referral rate as unverified rather than 5%. The 5% figure appears only in a 2020 post on JFF's own X account and in no current documentation, so it does not meet the sourcing bar.

Affiliate disclosure

Some outbound links to a platform's homepage are affiliate links: if you sign up as a creator, we may earn a referral commission, paid by the platform out of its own share. Those links are marked rel="sponsored". Commission never affects which platforms we include, the figures we publish, or the order of the table. Table order is fixed and editorial. Links to source documents, the ones that prove a figure, are never affiliate links.
